Salus™. Putting your wellness first.
Because we know you aspire to live not just luxuriously during your retirement, but meaningfully too, Aspire features Salus by Solvere. This is our trademark wellness philosophy that focuses on your potential to achieve the goals you’ve set for yourself.
Salus™ by Solvere is powered by Masterpiece Living®, a holistic wellness platform on which all programming for the senior living community is based. Designed to enhance and customize the community-wide successful aging initiative, Masterpiece Living is based on twelve years of research and the studies outlined in the book, Successful Aging, and Dr. Robert L. Kahn, one of the authors, is on the program’s advisory board.

Like all of our programs, Salus begins with truly learning who you are and what you treasure. Once we’re confident we know and understand you, we focus on engaging you in the ways that suit you best. And, you’ll be happy to know, there are countless ways you’ll be inspired.
The Salus philosophy is integrated throughout every aspect of life at Aspire, so you’ll enjoy an abundance of programs, events and fascinating ways to connect with your neighbors and the Aspire team members that feel like they were created just for you.
UNLOCK THE KEYS TO SUCCESSFUL AGING through our innovative wellness initiative.
Salus is our trademark wellness philosophy, a holistic approach that focuses on each members’s potential to achieve his or her personal goals through engagement and connection.
In addition to the services and amenities of the community, the Salus philosophy is integrated throughout Aspire at Carriage Hill. Members will find no shortage of programs, events and ways to connect with others to sustain or improve their health and well-being. Members, their families and the staff alike are encouraged to use their unique talents and professional skills through our signature Salus programs.
Salus takes a comprehensive approach that concentrates on the Four Components of Wellness, each one a critical element for creating a path to meaningful living.
THE FOUR COMPONENTS OF WELLNESS
- PHYSICAL Living a healthy lifestyle through physical activity and proper nutrition to stay strong, flexible and limit disease and disability.
- SOCIAL Strengthening existing connections with family and friends and developing new relationships to stay connected to the community.
- INTELLECTUAL Stimulating minds through participation in lifelong learning initiatives and challenging, creative programs.
- SPIRITUAL Continuing lifelong search for purpose and meaning through faith-based involvement, volunteerism and service, and enjoying meaningful pastimes.
To age successfully requires a physically active and mentally stimulating lifestyle, strong social engagement, an environment that supports your unique goals and — perhaps most importantly — a sense of purpose and meaning.
EXPERIENCE an Engaging Team
All levels of management — from housekeeping and dining to wellness — are encouraged to engage with members and form a true community. Team members at Aspire are empowered to share their own unique talents, slow down and take time to get to know each person and positively impact and monitor the health, well-being and safety of members at our Richmond senior living community.
Frequently Asked Questions About Our Infectious Disease Protocols
What are the protocols if a resident tests positive for an infectious disease such as COVID-19?
Protocols vary by state and are dependent upon the location and health status of the resident if they are confirmed positive. If the resident is currently admitted to a hospital, they will remain there until stable for discharge. If a resident tests positive while at the community and they are in a stable condition, all infection control protocols are implemented including the use of full PPE. If a resident is confirmed to be COVID positive while living in the community and their health in unstable, protocols require transfer to a hospital for stabilization and further evaluation before being discharged. As types of infectious diseases vary, factors such as contagiousness factors into the protocols put into place to care for the resident and manage infections within the community.
How is news distributed to family members when the community is under a quarantine?
The best way to stay abreast of news is through digital channels. We will continue to post updates on our website and on our community Facebook page. We have also created a COVID-19 Information Center where we provide community and protocol updates as well as resources available for residents and family on a regular basis.
Is the staff screened each day before entering the community?
Yes. All team members are being screened and documented at the beginning of each shift within a log managed by the community. This process includes using screening logs for symptoms and questions about travel to or contact within areas of potential COVID-19 exposure, including other places of employment, other Senior Living communities, as well as temperature readings prior to entering the community.
